Apr 24-May 8 Art from the Heart Exhibition The Art from the Heart exhibition is a celebration of the art created at Joshua Farm Gallery by adults who are supported by Community Living Oakville. The artists gather weekly to learn, create, socialize, share, and grow with one another. Community Living Oakville provides a range of support services to children, youth, and adults who have developmental disabilities and their families. Apr 26 & May 3 10:30-3:30 pm Saturday Art Smarts @ Oakville Galleries This spring, get Art Smart with engaging, hands-on workshops at Oakville Galleries! Join our experienced, returning art instructor, Meghan, as she guides your child(ren) through a series of exciting creative projects. Each session is designed to introduce children to new techniques and materials, encouraging them to explore new ways of creating art.
Over the course of the 2-hour workshop, participants will complete their very own finished works of art.
This session, we are offering stand alone workshops on the following Saturdays with a morning and afternoon session on each date:

May 3 1-4 pm Landscape Watercolour: Shape, Value, Colour Course 13 Broken Horses (Brian McPhee) is offering a four week watercolour landscape painting course, for beginners and intermediate painters. The course, Landscape Watercolour : Shape,Value,Colour will take participants through a very direct way to approach watercolours, using the landscape as the subject. Participants will be guided through three steps: simplification of the subject (simplifying shapes), identifying values (light and darks) and local colour. Working from small two minutes in sketchbooks, up to large full colour direct painting, the students will produce very spontaneous exciting responses.
