In honour of Pride Month, we invite participants to learn how to make a collage zine during a workshop with Alyssa Pisciotto. Folks will be guided through the process of making a pamphlet-style zine focusing on themes of self-discovery, self-exploration and self-acceptance. Whether that is through expressing your dreams and aspirations, storytelling or just visual art. Folks identifying as 2SLGBTQIA+ and allies alike are welcome to come by and create!
Participants are encouraged to make copies of what they create and trade among the other attendees. (This is optional and up to each individual).
Materials will be provided, however we encourage you to bring along any old magazines, stickers or materials you may want to use in a collage.

Cost: $35

About the Artist:
Alyssa Pisciotto is a Queer multi media artist based out of both Toronto and Windsor, Ontario, and has exhibited throughout Ontario. Alyssa’s work challenges the idea of “good” taste by playing with the “kitsch” quality of different materials and subject matter. Other prevalent themes throughout her work are memory and nostalgia, Queerness, as well as challenging beauty standards. Alyssa’s practice primarily consists of painting, but also includes printmaking, bookbinding, and collage. Alyssa graduated with a BFA from OCAD University in 2016 with a major in drawing and painting and a minor in printmaking.
